I was looking at Cliffords Web Site under Q & A and saw this. The page was last updated November 2004. So I guess there telling us it might be ready September of 2005. How long have they been talking about this head?

Question:
What is status of Alum. Head for use with Seprate intake for 68 200 ci ford engine
Answer:
We are working hard to get the new Aluminum Crossflow cylinder head and Intake finished and ready to ship for September. We have had more fun with this new project than anything we have ever done. With this new cylinder head you will be able to run our Multi Point Fuel Injection system and really make some big power and torque. Keep your eyes on the new web site for information and ETA.

That's been in the works about two years!
Why not just get a Aussie or Argie head, I'm sure they are 1/2 to 1/4 less cost than the Clifford head will be!

That head has always been about 6-12 months away from production. It was supposed to be realised this time last year. Then this winter....now fall...August will come around and it'll be next spring. I've even talked to them and it changes constantly.

Get a Argie or Aussie head, cheaper, probably better.

I'm sorry if I gave the impression that this is the head to wait for. I was just trying to point out what Fruit Cakes the Clifford people are. My dealings with them had me arguing with myself and losing the argument.

I am happy with my Log Head six in my ranchero. I put this Ranchero together to be my daily driver. I just can't justify spending that kind of money for an OZ, Argie, or Clifford six cylinder head. I don't think the power gain is equal to what a pair of aluminum GT-40 heads will do for a small block Ford V-8, for about the same money. In my younger days Six Cylinders were not cool. You were either a nerd or you were driving your mothers car. When I want to remember my teenage years (1963 - 1969) I have my 1965 Comet 404 two door sedan with a built 302 V-8 and a 4 speed trans. I have a radical cam in it with loud exhaust. I have been pulled over a few times in my Comet for burn outs (peeling out in my day) but the cops have only given me warnings. I guess age does have it's privileges.

I disagree...my Aussie head cost about $1500 all said and done (purchase, rebuild, oversized valves, carb). Probably close to doubled the horse power. Don't think numbers, then relative percentage. I still smile when I step on it. Best money I've spent...and I still drive it 15k miles a year and get 25MPG on the highway with the top down at 75MPH.
