g,day , i have a friends xf with 6 cyl and the motor is shagged , i gave him a crossflow out of a xd , when we fit it do we use the xd distributor or the one that was in the car originally the XF one, thanks heaps

g,day , the reason i am asking is someone said that the xf computer is not the same as the xd one , and i dont want to stuff it up , thanks again

what year is the xf?i have found eairly xf's have the same setup as the xd/xe but somewhere in 85 they changed and then had the different dizzy.if it has the little harness coming out of it instaed of the 2 wires (green/black) then they are not interchangable, they will fit but wont run.

its a 12-85 xf and has 2 wires a green and red , i might pluck the dissy out of the old motor and put on the xd motor , thanks for all your help everyone , cheers pete

That's the early XF. Measure the pilot diameters for comparison before installing in the "new" block. Some are 40 thou larger than the XE/XF type.
