Custom Exhaust

Hello everyone! New to this forum! I currently own a '68 Mustang Coupe w/ a 200 w/ 3spd auto trans. I have been constantly trying different exhausts on it. The first was turbo muffler w/ stock piping. Too quiet for me. Then I put a glasspack in place of the turbo. Sounded horrible. Then I made a homemade flowmaster 40. Sounded godly! Bad part was the darn muffler was so heavy it broke the hangers. Then I modified the intermediate pipe and mounted a glasspack sidepipe. Sounds good and loud. Well that exhaust wont pass inspection here, so I have been doing alot of research on new exhaust. I have finally settled with purchasing a '67 headpipe and intermediate pipe. From there I want to adapt the transverse Flowmaster 80. After the muffler I purchased a set of 22'' Magnaflow Stainless Tips. I am going to purchase the dual outlet rear valance pan to give it a cleaner look. Later down the road I want to purchase a header.

Could you guys give me some advice and feedback about this project?

I can't necessarily give you advice, but I can tell you I'm thrilled with the sound of my headers and MagnaFlow Wide Open mufflers. I went dual mufflers.

I have a 67 Mustang and took it to a local shop. I had already installed the headers. The bent and installed all the piping and supplied the mufflers and tips. Out the door for just over $500.

Sound is awesome! I'll have to take a vid clip and post it.

Good luck with the project!
