Ok My timing chaine look loose to me..I did the defection test as called for in the ford shop manual. But I want to make sure I am doing this right.
First I took all the slack out of the left side and made a measurment on the block (1 1/2") then I roated in the opssite direction until it was tight on the bottom or right side. Then I pulled out the change and measured to the same spot (3/4") so there is 3/4" play. I looked up the max deflection and it said .5 so I assume the means 1/2" which would make mine out of limits. DID I DO this right??????????????
