Thank you ....

I plan to switch to this type. Is this a good idea?

What are the necessary parts for this swap and where can i buy them on internet (with shipping to France) ?

All opinion are welcome :)

1968-74 stock dual advance breaker point distributor equipped with pertronix ignition trigger, a low-maintenance setup delivering adequate performance.

Do you mean to swap from your DS2 set up to the Pertronix?

Here is my old write up:

http://www.kastang.us/pertvds2.html

I'm not saying either is better, but both are improvements overstock. Personally, if you already have the DS2 installed, I would stick with it. I've been running my DS2 set up for almost 4 years now without a single problem. My Pertronix nearly left me stranded once (tape on the magnets peeled off). I went DS2 to have an over the counter ignition that I could run to just about any auto parts warehouse and get replacement parts for. To me, that's important for a daily driver.

If however you want a more stock look with better driveability, hands down the Pertronix is the way to go. I consider my break down a freak accident and rare occurence for Pertronix based on anecdotal evidence from this forum. I have no problems recommending this system either.

However, I would stay away from that distributor. I had one like that for awhile and hated it.

I think he means swap from the Pertronix Dist to the DSII.

In which case, I fully recommend this swap ;)

In actuality, there really is not much difference between the two setups. However, some have had reliability problems w/ the pertronix lately.

CobraSix thank you for your website, it is a really gold mine for me. I want also change my radio, water pump, tranny.....all explanations are on your site :!:  :!:
I want to do the same installation that you for my distributor with a Duraspark + MSD +..... in place of what appears to be a Petronix.
But there are no such parts in France.
If you could tell me all necessary parts for this swap and where to find them on the internet for sales in France I will be fully happy. :D :D
(I also need fuses, can't found them in France)

I bought one of these for $39.99. Worldwide shipping. http://fordsix.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=49901

This is a good ignition module: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car...diZ2865QQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p3756.m20.l1116
This is the wiring (Don't pay attention to the shape of the module, only the letters.):

This is is how I connected it (make sure you use a Heat Sink):

Here are several HiPo coils: http://motors.shop.ebay.com/items/high-performance-coil_W0QQ_nkwZhighQ20performanceQ20coil

This coil has the stock look: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car...diZ2865QQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p3756.m20.l1116

This tells you how to adjust the DS II: http://www.reincarnation-automotive.com/Duraspark_distributor_recurve_instructions_index.html
