Did anyone ever decide how the distributor shaft is supposed to get lubed? I have my engine together and it runs good. That distributor shaft is going to be damaged if it depends on oil going through that oiling hole since there is no way for oil to get out and on to the shaft.

HI
Now it doesn't take a lot of oil. On the inside of the housing it may only be just a slit. Its not designed to move alot of oil, it only needs to be like a crack just so some oil seepes in.

Yes, this I know. I have put solvent in there and put compressed air behind it. I did this with the shaft out. I have put solvent and let it sat all night and in both cases no air or solvent came into the shaft housing. That shaft has spirals cut in it but they go the wrong way to bring oil up from the bottom. Those spirals apparently are there to keep oil from coming up from the bottom.
