Well, I found another problem with my car tonight. While working on stabbing the dizzy, I found that the rotor was being held in place with a couple of paper matches. Pretty cool, huh?
Well, since the dizzy was out of the car, I took it to my local parts store to match up a rotor, thinking the problem was that the rotor was too big. Not the problem at all. The problem was that there must have been a teflon bushing or some other object that was supposed to be there to hold the rotor in place. I decided instead of messing with it to just buy a new dizzy. Mine was looking a little beat up, being 38 yrs old and all. Any how, is there any need to be concerned about using a new dizzy, the gears in particular?
I'm gonna hook up the trans kickdown in the AM. I'll let you know what crazzy crap I find then. Already know the tranny is leaking, which is odd, since it has sat for almost 1 yr with out running. Probably just a bad pan gasket.
