Does this sound right?

I raised my float level in the sight window to about 3/4 full and it seems that my hesitation/stalling is almost gone. The Demon Manual says that the fuel is supposed to be just barely visible in the window. Is this too much? or is this indicating that I have another problem that is only fixed by raising the float level?


on another note... I guess I had some vacuum leaking issues that I permanetly fixed this weekend and when I took off in the car I noticed a HUGE power increase. I layed down some rubber SWEET! I'm just worried about that float level, and it still seems that I should raise it a little more because I still just barely notice a little hesitation/stalling.

on Another Another note.... Throttle linkage is setup a little more permanent and less complicated, picture is in the "Eye Kandy" section, in case anyone is still wondering about a linkage setup using the Clifford adaptor.

Ledition, a demon is really a redesigned holley.

The fuel level must be at the bottom of the sight glass.

If the engine runs better with the float level too high it could be too lean jetting, not enough accerator pump shot at the right time, or proper distributor advance or too low a fuel pressure, you need at least 5-8 lbs of pressure.

With a 264 camshaft you should be running at least 14 degrees initial advance plus 24 degrees in the distributor all in by 3000 rpms & have your vacuum advance hooked up to direct manifold vacuum not ported vacuum.

If you do not have the distributor dialed in as described, back up & start over.

Proper advance is the key to idle,part throttle acceration & top end power.

After you have that then proceed with fine tuning the carburetion. William
