You know, Pony sell all kinds of carbs. You'd think they would have a more open mind. Myself, after reading all this, I think I'm leaning toward pullin' off those Holley 1921's, pulling the Holley 1940, getting one of the new Pony 1100s and two older 1100's. Puttin' the new one in the center and the old ones on each end.
We have all heard the one about how we should all eat crap 'cuz 2 billion flies can't be wrong.... but really, I have not heard any of you say that it won't work, and won't improve performance. I've learned a lot from this thread! I've also found that there is still more to learn (like why a 1100 needs rejetting), and why the mystical attraction that Webers seem to have. Why some hafta' spend time balancing the carbs and others set them and forget them. I have spent hours reading as many of the old threads on this subject as I could find. After reading them all, they seem to all arrive at pretty much the same conclusion. Guess the best answer is to just get started on the project.
I hope more of you will add your opinions before this is done. I will certainly post my progress as the project develops. I will get all the parts first, then spend a wild day or two cobbeling the whole thing together. For right now the next step is changing my rear valance for dual GT exhaust tips. I got the parts at NPD Michigan last week and painted the valance this afternoon! I'm gonna' miss those rear bumper guards!
Thanks to all of you who have sent me private messages with your ideas. It all helps!
