draw through setup

FAR OUT

Well-known member
I have been collecting parts to turbo a 62 Falcon wagon with a t-5 trans and a 200 eng. Like linc's200 I have the reworked rods and trw forged pistons. A late 70's head. I have an IHI RH06A turbo. I have a motorcraft 2 bbl with a 1:14 stamping on carb. It has been modified to read man vac down stream of turbo for power valve. It also has a .030 injector under carb to come on at 2-3 psi boost. I already have j pipe and turbo mounted. This will be a draw thru setup. I don't plan on going over 10 psi boost. I know there are advantages to both draw thru and pressurized carb set ups. I am not interested in intercoolers and am looking for that extra hp at passing and going thru gears. Will be a daily driver.

Does Mike have a good cam for this application?

Is it better to mount carb as close to turbo as possible. Have seen
them mounted far?

Any other input?

Thanks
Dale

What type of driving do you plan to do, has a lot to do with cam selection. Also what gear ratio are you running?

8) for a daily driver, i recommend using 3.50 gears with the T5, and the cam i recommend is this one at fordsixparts

this cam is a very nice cam for a daily driver, perhaps even better than the comp 260 high energy cam.

step up to this one if you want a bit more.

I would say a 3.25 if your daily driving involves any highway miles. I have a 3.50 with my t5 and turbo and would just like a little less revs while cruising
