DSII and stock carb

Will these work together? I know that if I upgrade the carb I need to change the load-o-matic dizzy, but what about the other way around? I'm waiting on Carb upgrades until I redo my head. (planning pertronix for now).

thanks,

Howdy Back Tom;

No, not perfectly. Reread the sticky at the top, but know that the Spark Control Valve (SCV) in the stock carb send a modified load sensitive signal ot the Load-a-matic distributor. They are designed to work together.

In fact, you can upgrade either, but you will have to tune to get a compromised system. By that I mean you can use full manifold vacuum to the DSII, by carefully controlling initial advance. Full vacuum will give a very high vacuum advance at idle and at cruise. In fact, that will help off idle acceleration and mileage at highway speeds. Keep checking your plugs for signs of peppering, even though you don't hear pinging.

Adios, David
