Alright I bought a DSII setup at my local parts store (O'Reillys),and they asked me if I wanted a dual or single vacuum advance dizzy. Which one do I want I went ahead and got the single, but it looks different than the one in the DSII sticky by Joe Trojan. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Andrew

Howdy Andrew:

You will want a single vacuum advance distributor. The Dual system used vacuum to advance and to retard ignition as part of improving emissions. For performance and simplicity, you want vacuum advance only.

Adios, David

I didn't think any duraspark distributors had dual vacuum advance. I learn something new everyday, I guess.

I have never seen one. I wonder what they were used on.

Linc, the dual diaphram vacuum advance was used to reduce emisions & thats all. From a performance standpoint do as David says & use the single advance can.

The dual vacuum advance can will only decrease your fuel miliage & emissions at idle. They are a drone from the late 60's, don't use them. William

I had a dual advance on my Maverick, but only had the vac advance hose attached to the "advance" side.

It was points. I didn't think they used them on any durasparks.
