DUI Performance Ignition System

I have done most of the work I wanted and planned to on my 250 Mustang fastback. It has dual headers, dual exhaust, GT valance and tips, CD system, balanced and blueprinted engine, front power disc brakes, low restriction air cleaner, Fairlane GT type wheels with blank dog dish covers, wide tires, new interior, new pans, boxes and seat peds. bigger sway bars and now is being lowered about an inchall around.

I have been considering the DUI Performance Ignition System and wanted to see what everyone else has done and pro and con of changing to that instead of the original points/condenser distributor. Better running, more hp, stay tuned longer, all of the above?

What do you all think?

Thanks Jim Reese

if you're going DUI, go all the way and buy the FSPP set-up ($400). If not, at least go the Pertronix route ($100).
I used Pertronix and it was VERY impressive. Immediate quick start, smooth running, and a lot more energy for those plugs. In addition to the ignitor, I also put a 40,000v coil ($20), new plugs gapped at 50, and 8mm accel wires ($30). That was nearly three years ago and haven't touched it since.

Go with the DUI from Mike,FSPP
We have it on our 67 Mustang 200, it is NICE!
It was pricy but I think money well spent, It really made a difference, runs smoother, feels stronger
Strongly urge this unit.

Thanks to all for your advice/opinions

chazthephoenix, I took some images this past weekend and will try to get some posted soon.

In installed the DUI recently. This was after upgrading to the DII (Duraspark II) system from an '81 Fairmont (but all new parts). I spent close to $200 getting the DII setup. spent twice that on the DUI.

The DII worked a million times better than the original setup, but you know what? The DUI is again much much better than the DII. Easier starts hot or cold, smoother idle, more power across the band, noticeably better mileage. Plus, my engine bay is much neater now. I highly recommend the DUI.
