Just bought a 1978 duraspark II for a 200 ci and ordered the Mr. Gasket recurve spring set. Am I going to to have to change slots when I perform th recurve or just replace the lighter spring with one of the Mr. Gasket springs?

I've read thu that article several times in the last few days and thats why Im posting. In another article I read, the instruction was to simply replace a spring. The article you reference is a bit more complicated.

That link to reincartion is very good, buttttttt, if you just put lighter springs in you may start the centrifigul advance too soon, even at idle if you have a wilder camshaft than stock.
Sometimes you have to braze the first part of the advance slot so advance does not start at base idle till over 900 rpms if you have a radical camshaft, otherwise the base idle speed will vary because the centrifigul advance in active before it should be.
This is a very critical area, where you need experience adjusting advance curves. Having a sun machine sure helps, but also can be done with a tach & timing light. Be carefull because if you are over advanced you can cause serious engine problems. Bill
