You just need one port on your vacuum advance canister.
On the other hand, two ports won´t hurt - you can use a dual vac advance canister as well. Just plug the retard port... or leave it unplugged, I cannot rmember if that actually hinders free movement of the vacuum membrane inside.
If anything fails, and if its cheap, get that dizzy and replace the dual vac can with a single vac can from any auto parts store.
my mind is pretty fuzzy, but I believe that the dual vacuum advance canisters serve a purpose as an emissions control only, and I found dual vac dizzies on manual tranny applications only, never on automatic transmission cars.
When lifting your foot quickly from the loud pedal, the retard side of the canister (the second nipple coming from the cnaister, mostly in some 90-degree-fashion) works against the advance, thus supporting decelleration.
