i just installed a 2v weber carb w/ electric choke and i was wondering what i have to do to hook up the electric choke?
thanks Shawn

Greetings Shawn, you need to locate a "Keyed" circuit. You only want current to the choke coil when the car is running. An easy location is the hot side of the ignition coil.

Good luck, Ric.

check one thing...see if you choke is a 12V kit or 6V kit. If you hook up 12Vs to a 6V choke, you'll greatly decrease the life.

when i was hooking up my gages, i found the hot side of the coil was not a good place for the voltage gage as it registered only 8 volts there once the engine was started. i assumed this was an intentionally designed voltage drop similar to GM coil resistors. will this voltage drop negatively effect the choke coil function? frankie

best place to hook up the voltmeter is at the positive side of the solenoid where the battery is connected. u can hook it up to the battery itself but it would be a messy job and would probably fall off one day freaking you out. if you do that it will be on the whole time giving you exactly what you want to know all the time and even tell you how the alternator is doing and how the regular is doing too. if you dont want it on all the time simply put on a switch for either connecting the ground or the power underneath the dashpanel. good luck
