All Big Six Engine / head ID

Relates to all big sixes
I'm working on a 39 plymouth that had and engine swap and cannot fing the right size lifters for replacement. I thought it was a 1978 ford truck motor but when I look at the casting numbers it appears to be from a falcon or maverick however I do not see a 78 listed for either model. casting numbers that I read are Engine: D8DE 6015-CA, Head: D8BE 6090. Ideas so I can order the correct lifters?

I would include pics but forum won't let me

If it has the intake as part of the head, then it is the small six, 200 or 250, If the water pump bolts on with 4 bolts it is a 250, if the water pump bolts on with 3 bolts it is a 200. so just order lifters from a 1978 Fairmont or Granada with whatever engine you have, To the best of my knowledge the lifters are the same for both engines. The 250 push rods are longer than the 200.
You will get more answers in the small six forum here, as you are now in the big six forum.

Thanks - I will bounce it to the small block. It has 4 water pump bolts so a 250. What I can't figure out it there is no 78 Mav with an inlnie 6 -they stopped production in 77 though the casting shows it to be a 78

To the best of my knowledge all the 250s of that year are the same, so for your search try Fairmont or Granada. Those numbers do not really say what car it is from.
