Engine oil in sparkplugs.

Yesterday, I found that all of my sparkplugs have oil in it. So I pulled 'em out and sanded them and tighten 'em back.

I'll check it out again later today. But I'm wondering what caused it and any points to look at to prevent it from happening again.

BTW, I changed all gaskets almost 3 years ago and I don't drive hard nor it's a daily driver at heart. I only take it out weather permitting and in weekends IF I have events to attend.

i'd do a compression check, it's possible that the valve seals are leaking

Are you talking about the plugs themselves or just the spark plug threads?

Oil soaked plugs are either bad valve stem seals/worn valve guides or bad rings/broken piston.

Lots of people have talked about there spark plug threads having oil on them....no idea where it comes from but its nothing to worry about!

Oil gets down into the spark plug openings from leaky valve covers too.

It's the plugs themselves. It has thick black oil on the "L" bar. Hard to talk mechanic when you're dumb about parts names.

But you mentioned it's ok. But why ok? It's puzzling me honestly.

I suspect it might be the valve guide(?) ,the press fit in my cylinder head where the valve slides is, is broken.

that would be the electrode i believe... although that might be the bit that is in the center...

it's only ok if it's on the threads of the plug, that means it's not in the chamber, if it's on the part that the spark actually goes through, that's bad news
