engine shops

Hey guys,

I am in Sydney NSW and am looking for a engine shop to perform some work for my 221.

I just need the block bored and rotating assembled, also a but of head work to be done.

Just looking for recommendations from anyone as the machine shop section seems to only have USA shops (not really cost effective to ship over there)

Rams in Windsor for the head; not sure if they do much block work. Try Bakers, who are out at Orange (or is it Dubbo?) otherwise. St G in Seven Hills do OK crank grinds, and Camtech can reprofile a cam (as can Wade, Watson etc).

I can recommend a guy in Melb. He did a great job of rebuiding my engine including new cam, mains,head porting and the like. It goes well and is quite driveable.
The guy is honest and talks you through want you want to do.
You just have to figure how to get the gear to the Nth suburbs of Melb.

Easy. I seem to spend more time in Melbourne than justifiable. Back again in March/April a couple of times.

If it fits safely in the wagon and is clean enough, I'll take it for the difference in fuel costs (probably $40/each way).
