matt1967,
Thanks,
So all pre 1980 200ci bell housings have the same bolt pattern.

No, but when the bellhousing was made larger, the engine block was made capable of bolting up to both patterns. I forget the year dual pattern blocks were made, but I remember reading that you could still bolt up the smaller bellhousing to the newer block.

61Futura,
Thats what I need to know so can stay out of trouble.
So 79 and below I should be able to bolt up with no problems.
Thanks,

In 1966 they came out with the dual bolt pattern.
Also in '69 they opened up the ports to a larger size, if you get a later engine make sure you get a later carb and exhaust manifold too.

This is good info,
I needed it a few days ago so I could bid on an 68 200 on ebay but I wasnt sure and haired out on bidding.
I have a line on a 66 200, but Im going to keep my eyes open now that you guys armed me with this knowledge.
Thanks.

As I said in your other post, I have a bunch of 200s laying around. One is a block that's totally stripped, already been tanked/fluxed, no cracks. I have all the pistons, crank, everything. Also fuel pump/trimmings/etc. I'm up here in orange county, and I'll give it all to you for 40$. More than it cost for me to get it, and have it checked. The ridge isn't so bad. I think it's 20 over as of now. I'll PM you my number.

right, in '66- up, they made dual pattern blocks, these have 2 sets of top bolt places, but anything pre '80 will work

Do you have any low miledge 200's or rebuilt ones.
I have the tools and know how but time is slim.
I barely have the time to swap it out.

The one that I have to give right now is in a perfect condition to put bearings and rings, quick hone it, and put 100k on it easy. It'd be a day's work to assemble it and get the old engine out, and another day to swing the new one in. =D Let me know.

Do you have the time to build that motor cover to pan, And can you PM me a price. If you dont have the time thats ok too. I might buy the parts from you as a plan B. And have local guy assemble it .Im not yanking your chain I need a motor.
Thanks,

I do have time, just tell me when. I would need $$ for bearings and such if you wanted to do that. Let me know what's up.
