EOBE - Good head for performance build or not?

Got a used 200 virgin motor tonight, took it apart, head is a E0BE from what I found it's large intake valves and hardened seats, are these good heads to work with?

Yes. It's preferable to use any post 1976 head if you can. It all depends what sort of carb package you want to use.

If you were going to a Tri Power 3-carb set up, or a 2-bbl adaptor, that alters which head might be best, but generally, the late model log has all the good bits to make better power on our sixes.

The E0 head should have the largest log intake volume of all castings, 1420cc. This head is great if you want to direct mount a 2V carb, or do multiple carbs.

Unfortunately, if not milled down it has the large combustion chamber volume, 62cc, which hurts compression. Your CR is probably only 8.7-1.

You need to measure the combustion chamber to see if your CR is where you want it to be.

Does your virgin 200 have a high mount or low mount starter?
