i know this is not the right part to post this in but im hoping some one could help me, has any one or does any one jknow of any one othere than the rod shop and hoppers stopers that do a 5 stud conversion kit for te-cortinas ?

Can't you just order custom drilled DBA rotors and redrill the rear axles? Fit XR-XC rear brakes, with a proportioning valve. Pads should last 10 years!

Outside the box, but my local wreckers don't have a 4 stud rim i need as a spare for my 68 mustang.

will the cortina 4 stud fit?

hoppers stopers quoted 1300 hundred, thats for au 290 mm rotors slotted and cross drilled , pdr twin piston calipers, hubs, bearings brake hoses the lot bolt on :<.

had fields kit is 175, i all ready have this, i have the brackets the hq calipers and the xw falcon hubs but i dont have instructions as i got the kit of a mate, i called up rod and he wouldnt tell me how much i had to get machined of the hub or any thing so i figure ill try and do it my self ????

as to getting pdr discsss ??? drilled then ??? i might have to call pdr to see if they make it

Mate, they (or whoever does their work) will drill rotors to order; you can also buy them blank and drill your own stud holes...

If you order rotors, maybe next shop around to see what the chances are of a wheel bearing existing that needs no sleeves or machine work on the spindle, to match the two parts.

Then you can eyeball the whole shebang and see how the caliper brackets look. It's got to be mega rigid; chatter is the beginning of the end.

If that's what Rod told you, he's being daft. I think it would be possible to corner him with legals, but why bother? He would sell more product (and to the right people) by maintaining a more positive presence.

Cheers, Adam.

Rod talked to Street Machine in a 1990 article about a Datsun 5-speed swap he used to do for old Grey Holdens. He had one guy drive 100 miles for the correct cross member when he tosed the new 5-speed behind his 138 Humpy. It arrived with a wire strop holding the gearbox to the unibody! Just 'cause he didn't have to dosh for the whole kit.

Although his stance makes no favours, Dyno, brilliance has limits but there are no limits to peoples stupidity!

Since we are at times sorrounded by some real numb people, we get lumbered with the same label.

Take advice, and do the calcs with the help of a machinist and engineer. We all know your smart and your works speaks for itself. Rod just hasn't learned your not an idiot. He has to believe everyone is, or he'll end up on the end on someones lawsuit.

I have the instructions that came with the Rodshop kit I bought a few years back, PM me with a Fax number and I can send you a copy.

We put a Rod Shop kit to get Falcon discs on the Transit to match the Falcon diff. It was easy to fit, took an afternoon, and has been fantastic since. The only thing to look out for is that the bolts holding the caliper and bracket have spring washers on them and are tightened good, as one of ours came loose and would jam the caliper against the wheel when you reversed. After we tightened it and made sure of a washer it has given years of trouble free performance. I would reccomend them, although I would love a Hoppers Stoppers kit to stick on it, along with XF rear discs.

i was really pissed of to find that all i needed was to use xw detactiable hubs, and xw bearings, all u do is take the disk of the hub, machine the back of the hub where the disk mounts down to 9.5 mm this moves the disk outwards. THe xw bearings are identical to the cortina bearings, its a bolt on fit, i all ready had the brackets to mount hq/wb callipers, so i brought a set of wb girlock ones, bolted them up, with new pads, looks mint, all i need to do is get brake lines made up, to convert wb to te :> all up cost less than 300 :>:>:>:>
amazing what motavation does
