Without seeing what it was attached to on the motor hard to say.

Was it on drivers side front of the motor? Looks like the Air pump silencer I had on my 1980 Mustang. Its gone now.

If Im wrong, wont be the first time :)

First pics look like the throttle kicker at your Holley 1946 carb. It is used to kick in 100-200 rpms more idle if A/C is engaged (your car has A/C right?) plus I think it is used to add the same rpms to help cooling if the engine is idled excessively and water temp rises above a certain point. Not 100% sure but I remember reading it from the Shop Manual. Can check it in the evening if the issue still is valid.

The connector looks just like the one in my harness for that device. Your pic doesn't show the connector at the kicker, but I'd quess it fits. The connector is at the same branch of harness that supplies the electronic choke too.

Do you have macro mode in your camera? Learn to use it, or take the pics a little further to help your camera focus. Friendly advise.

no my car does not have ac or power steering. the solenoid is to push the throttle. i believe that connector is for the soelnoid but my original carb didn't have one. it is a 9771 holley carb. my big concern is the vacuum nozzle coming out of the bottom of the carb. and i will figure out how the fix my camera. i think it was because i moved when i took the pictures.
