Took my first real ride in Jezebel ('67 Mustang) on Saturday. To this point, it had been around the block for tuning purposes, only. She is still majorly in the WIP mode. This trip was just to get her to my new apartment from the old place. Total trip was about 15 miles.

When she was running good, she pulled nicely. The T-5, despite it's reluctance to find 2nd sometimes, works very well. It feels geared right. 4-cyl T-bird trans with the stock 3.20 rear end.

There were some fuel delivery problems. It would bog down, and not go over 40mph. Then, it felt like something cleared out in the carb and she easily accelerates to 60mph. Goes like this for 2-3 miles, then stumbling again at 40mph. Wondering if something's sticking in the carb, or if the fuel filter is sketchy. Filter is new, but there may have been a lot of drek in the gas tank. I'm not too concerned, yet. I'll try new fuel filters with the new carb (see below). If it persists, I'll have the tank flushed and blow out the fuel lines.

Immediate future plans-

--Replace Autolite 1100 with a Carter YF. Main reason is to get a carb compatible with my DSII. Local carb shop should be able to help for relatively cheap with an exchange on my 1100, I hope.
--Install DSII concurrent with new carb.
--Install throttle cable linkage if needed for YF.
--Finish out the kluge job clutch linkage to make it smoother.

Further future motor mods
--Install my Oz head (after porting & 3-4 exhaust port divider)
--EFI
--Headers with an X-pipe and decent mufflers.

My delusions of grandeur are coming back to monetary reality. For the moment, getting the near-stock set-up to work is primary, so I can drive her around. Then the bigger stuff can happen, maybe this winter. Turbo may be a year or more out. It's just satifying to take a car that hasn't driven in over a decade and make it run.

Yes it's a good feeling to know that you accomplished something.
Looks like your one the right track.

Isn`t it cool to drive you`r car after seeing to poor thing sit for so long :D. I just finaly got mine on the road (not leagal just running and driving  ) a month ago and now the tranny (C4) is slipping so bad it will hardly go  all well now I can put a shift kit in the tranny while I have it apart  ,good luck I hope that what ever is wrong will be something easy and cheep have fun with it :D

Yeah, the poor girl was sitting in a barn for 10 years. It's one of those deals that always happens to other people, but never to you.

Got the Oz head, just not sure what to do with it yet. Want to go EFI, and might swing a bro-deal with a buddy who works with EFI stuff. Makes it hard to spend money on a decent carb set-up, since it will be temporary.

More planning.... always more planning....

But it ran under it's own power at road speeds! Woot! :D

I'll keep you folks posted on the EFI project when it gets moving.
