Flex Plate Issues

It seems I keep running into weird things with this engine! I took the flex plate off with associated ring and bolts. Now, six months later, the ring does not line up with the holes in the flex plate? Is this due to warpage or something? Should I heat/cool it first? I know on other cars you have to do this to get the ring gear off but mine has the gear on the torque converter. Any help would be uber appreciated! Thanks!

It only fits in one spot. Keep rotating it until it lines up. Make sure you have the correct side out. Did you try flipping it?

Like he said- those bolt holes may appear to be equally spaced but they are not. They are keyed and will only fit in one position.
