Fluid Question

I was just looking at the Classic site and it says that the manual trannys take ATF type F about half way down the page

Is that right?? I beleive mine had Gear oil in it??

for cold weather, I would run ATF or thin gear oil.

my 1970 spec book shows "standard transmission fluid, ESW-M2C83-B", which i believe is a thin gear oil, near ATF consistency. Stay away from hypoid gear oil (75w to 140w), its way too thick.
