? for southern cross ...

If TC=Turbo Coupe, I think some machining has to be done on the head.

Youre on turboford.org, aks them guys.

If TC doesnt=Turbo Coupe, Sorry for the hijack.

Joe, the TC cars in Argentina are specially modified Falcon sixes. The roller cam setup requires some cutting of holes in the block, and slight modifications to the dogbones.

Trouble is, nobody seems to let us in on the fine detail! I am all ears, too.

that is the pic I ran across the other day that got me thinking alex :)

it looks like they drilled the sides to place a bolt to hold the bowite in place. I would ALMOST think that one could just drill/tap the holes in their own garage? I also assuem they run the crank driven dizzy since my roller cams are billet steel and need a bronze drive gear which you can't pu in the middle of the 200 cam. Thinking about this more makes it seem like a good canidate for a EFI more with a crank trigger setup.

Actually, bronze distributor gears are available for using a roller cam, but the racers usually use a belt driven dizzy since they use belt driven oil pumps.

Alex

maybe Roller are the lifters, not the cam

Later i will post some explanation about that engines.

TC means "Turismo Carretera", something like "road tourism" or "track tourism". It was a stock or standard category running for argentinian roads, later they ran across the tracks only and highly modified & lightweighted cars, including argies chevy novas, Dodge GTX(argie model of 2door Dart) and Torino, an AMC rambler-based 2door coupe.

Lifters are solido, not hidrahulic, and it has a guide. block is modified to allow that guides.

RUles of that competition aren´t like early stock cars, in USA, all the race cars was sold to the people, but here, competition engines are specially worked and none of taht engine/cars has permission to run in the street.

I will try to post some pics of that engines.

cheers,
Mariano
