I just read a previous posting and the author made mention of original Ford forged connecting rods for the small block 6's. anyone know What years and how would you identify them ?

You can tell forged rods by the parting line, wide = forged, thin = cast. I think they used forged rods up to '72 or 3 not sure. I've read it at some point when I was looking at mine which are forged, '70 rods.

It was in the Falcon Handbook. According to it all small six rods were forged steel until 73, from 73-78 rod material varied from cast steel and iron to nodular iron. 79 was cast steel, 80 & 81 were nodular iron and 82 was back to forged steel.

Thanks for the information, guess I need to read my Falcon performance handbook again. Refresher course .

I just got a set of nos forged rods from green sales part number C3OZ-6200-B , check them and some of the other nos dealers , I paid $25.00 per rod
