Fuel sender help

I ned to find out the ohm range of the sender in an EFI XF.

I've gone to straight gas and now want to order a new sender for the gas tank to suit the standard fuel guage.

grab a multimeter and wack it across the terminals then play move the float

Thats good in theory, but the sender is a sealed item. There are no moving bits.

Buy some pots to link into the sender circuit. Try 100K linear, for starters. If all the action is at one end, try 10K. If no real movement, try 500K. Hop around like this using alligator clipped test leads, until you get close. Then buy a 20 turn cermet, and note the exact range. There's your figure.
