Gauges

Im looking for more inexpensive things to do with my car while Im saving for a head etc and I know the stock gauges are not exactly acccurate. Can anyone recomend some gauges that I can get through a local parts store and are decent looking (chrome) and does anyone have any pictures of gauges in their car?

IMO Autometer makes the best I've seen, I personally like the Sport Comp series, but they're a bit to racy for some people....maybe you can go with a triple gauge kit, for less than $100

So should I be looking for autometer? what about Sunpro?
Better than stock and the set I had read the same as the autometers, but I had to have the name brand in the ranger (show car) I am going to get another set of the sunpros for the stang though.

Digital! In a classic? I guess in an extream resto-mod it would be ok. But Sorry, I will have to stick with the analog.

I'm I just too old?

Ric.

Hows this. They are Autometer Ultrlites mounted using autometer gauge cups. Love em!!!! Used to have SunPro but I gave them to my sister's boyfriend and bought these. He now has the tach pictured and I have since installed a 5" Autometer in the same spot.

That looks really good matt. Did you have any problems with the Sunpro's? I guess once my car gets back from the alignment shop Ill have to see where I can fit the gauges. My head unit it directly center under the dash so it rules out there.

The only thing i've really got is a SunPro Tach

it works great for me, and no problems hooking it up

The SunPros were fine, but I like the autometers better personally. I never had any problems with them tho, so I wouldnt rule them out. Ive heard that Autometer is better and more accurate, but then again, some people HATE autometer and say they are innacurate (mostly import guys). Ive never had problems with either one so who am I to say, lol. Ill try and get a pic with the monster tach installed, its BIG, almost too big, but then again, its kinda growin on me.

Has anyone intstalled the aftermarket gauges in the factory dash holes? I know they will fit in my '66 pickup and suspect that the mustang is the same.

Personally I like the Wings gauges from Stewart-Warner.

Like this....

I had to enlarge the holes for the 2 5/8" gauges, but 2" ones would probably fit fine in the '66 bezel. The tach is 3 3/4" and slipped right in.
