Gave away my HW 5200

Had a friend rummaging over my stuff last week and he saw the 5200 HW I rebuilt last summer. He said he had a fiat that needed a carburator and he thought that it would fit? I asked him if it had the two barrel progressive like the 5200---he said it actually looked just like the one I rebuilt---except for the heater choke. He said the one he had was missing pieces---important pieces. He said he had this old fiat sittin' in his garage he was trying to get runnin.' He helped me out with his truck--so I gave him this one. I told him he would probably have to adjust the float and try the best positioning but he could try it and see. Did Fiats come with the HW 5200?

I would like to get another one someday---just to try out...I guess Stovebolt is the best place? I know there are several different one's I would like the auto-choke, which one is best for a 65 mustang with the 200 in it? I made my own adaptor for the 2300 and I can drill and tap a few holes for the 5200---so which one would be easier to switch out with the 2300-- I mean--without having to change the linkage?

I'd watch Ebay, they show up there cheap every so often. Hard to beat Stovebolt, tho...

They were "real" webers. The differed from model to model by cfm or other details but they were generally a down draft weber that was very similar to the HW5200

Webers varied a whole lot. There were synchronous ones, progressive ones, manual and water choked versions, all sorts of venturi combos. Sizing and other codes are stamped along the edge of the base flange.

US and Aussie market Fiats 124 CC Coupes, 131's and 132s came out with the Australian Ford Falcon Weber ADF or ADM carb in 32 or 34mm form. The X1/9 and other more common 128 and Yugo 45's had a similar kind of Weber carb.

Since all single Weber down draft carbs had the same stud pattern, the 32/36 Weber, or a 5200 Holley~Weber will fit the intake manifold. Fiat never used them stock, and none of the bits are a certain swap. There are a huge amount of parts avaliable from Pierce and other Weber and Fiat importers.

Affirmative regards the mirror image. 32/36's and 38 Webers are just 'backward' US 5200. BlQQdy foreigners! :P
