Good Morning
I know there are probably alot of topics on here right now in regards to this but I cannot seem to get twhat I need.
I left a message on the Mustang Steve sight because I liked the diagram on switching over from gen to alt.The diagram he has though has an external regulator and I got a 3 wire. Can anyone tell me if I use this diagram,do I just eliminate the common wires between the reg and alt on the 65 diagram?www.mustangsteve.com (Generator to Alternator)

Thanks

SteveStang, Try FalconParts.Com, and write in "one wire voltage regulator" in the search box. Then click on the "Installation Instructions Here". They give detailed instructions on making this swap that may help answer your questions! Good Luck! Jim

8) stevestnag, the three wire alternator is an externally regulated alternator. it is the one wire alternator that is internally regulated.

I have the three wire (85 amp, 10si) with no external reg. I was under the impression you could buy them either way, Ford or Chevy.

I finally got a hold of Mark at Madelectrical and ordered some parts.I have the 12Si alternator wich is a 3 wire internally regulated alternator.I am getting all the stuff he recommended to do my alternator from generator swap.

Thanks for the replies.
