Hey all, I have a stock I-6 200 with a K&N filter, I have a grand to blow and would like to kick up the power a bit, at least to a respectable level. My question is what to do? I was thinking a duel header running into a pair of borla's. What size pipe should I use? What all can I do to improve the intake for a reasonable price? Can I go two barrel? What about cams? I know I'm pushin over a grand but some is for future referance. My 200 runs great with 75,000 miles. So if you had my bone stock engine, where would you begin. Also most work will be done by myself and I have enough experience to do a fairly good job. Pipes will be done by a shop because I don't have a welder or good welding skills. Thanks for any replies.

In order:

1. Duraspark II
2. Pacemaker headers with Jet-Hot or HPC
3. Single or dual out exhaust
4. Rollmaster timing set

That will likely come close to a G.

Ditto, but keep your pipe size to 2" or less (1 7/8 is about ideal) to maintain good exhaust velocity.

lets see if I had a 200... I`d get a 250
what ever carb u get don`t go over 300 cfm

In order, for a grand I would add:

1. Ignition (pertronix or DII, wires, cap, plugs) $100 - 150

2. Exhaust (headers, duals) $400-600

3. Cam, lifters, timing set, gaskets $300 - 400

4. Chrome valve cover and gasket $25
