got my '78 Head today

My '78 250 head came today. it is a D7 casting. paid $200 for it, shipped. it's in OK condition, I have to clean it in the parts washer, then inspect it for cracks, and check the head mating surface with a flat bar & feeler gauges. I will need to sandblast it also as 1 of the combustion chambers is rusted a bit. I'm not going to do any porting, they are very smooth and str8 porting with my experience, would only hurt them. I also got a rocker shaft with it, 1.5 non adjustable like I arleady have, but this will give me an extra, even after I send 1 back for the $50 core charge, of the 1.65 full rollers. Also, my original water neck had holes rusted thru it, where the hose goes over. the new head came with a water neck, but it is diffrent, has a pipe plug in 1 side ( 1/8" ) and seems bigger, will this work on my '67 200 if I use a '67 water pump?

There's a different thermostat housing on the 250s. That could be what you've on your new head.

You can use it, you might have to get a different upper radiator hose. the new one is about a 1/4" larger in diameter.
