The previous owner said the #5 intake valve was stuck open (ended up it was the #2). When I pulled the valve cover I noticed that push rod wasn't even connected to the rocker arm. It might have been to short, I din't know. But it was a new push rod. It was thicker, and nice and shiny. The others looked like crap.
I swear this guy didn't know oil changes are part of owning a car. What a tool.
Anyhoooo, I popped the head off and it was as bad as I thought it might be. Take a look at the pictures and let me know what you think.
Also that valve wasn't stuck open.

We were really hopping a valve job would be all she needed, but a full rebuild is in need.

I bet you the guy used a pushrod from a 200; they're shorter than the 250s. Shame he didn't maintain the motor.

that push rod was pretty damn close. I didn't measure it, just stood them all side by side.

well the same thing happened to me with my 200, the oil was like tar and the third cylinder wasnt doing anything cause the exhaust pushrod was too short, or so we thoguht. Turns out the lifter had broken and spit out all its insides (luckily they didnt hit the pistons or mess things up) so the pushrod would have been ok but the lifter wasnt so the pushrod was like an inch too short.
