H/W 5200 question

I saw one on ebay with a lot fo wires comming out of it. I assume this is emissions related and want to know if this style fo carb should be avoided or if the wires.sensors can be removed?

Without seeing it, I can't say, but the wires are probably for electric choke and an emissions idle cut-off (anti-backfire) circuit.

I'm not sure, but I'd imagine either could be removed/blocked off and you'd be left with a basic 5200. Have to get a good look to be sure, though

Could be a 6200 which was a computer feedback carb.
