I have your basic 200 Ford Mustang that I am going to use in college as a daily driver but I want a new head and intake. What does it cost for a new one and what on should I get. I am working on a very limited cash so keep that in mind. I'm 18 and I can do most of the work involving instalation of parts. Thanks

the stock head has an intake that cannot be removed

however, there are Australian, and Argentinian heads that have removable intakes that help out power incredibly
the Aus head is aluminum, there is a cast iron Argie, and soon will be an aluminum head (but as of now it's not available)

you'll be looking at around $900 for either head, but eBay might have one for cheaper

now, if you want to get a stock, late model head and modify that, that's also possible

good luck with it

mustang_owner66,

Southern Cross Performance offers an aluminum head package that includes exhaust headers and an intake. At the moment SCP is the only one offering such a product for the 200/250. It's a total redesign of the cast iron head that uses off the shelf valvetrain parts. I suggest you visit the SCP website and send them an email for more information.

that's the head i was talking about when i said it was unavailable
you can read up on it over here
http://fordsix.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22948

now you don't have to email 'em, and know as much as anyone else here 'cept John and Martin
;)

you might also wander over to www.fordsixparts.com and check and see what Mike (known as AzCoupe over here) has to offer, no heads, but he's also working on one and has a boatload of other parts for you to drool over as well

without seeming to be post \/\/h0re, you should wait until SCP dynos their motor and reveals some hard numbers before making your decision on the SCP head.
