Head repaired

Got my head back from the shop today. They shipped it to a shop in Houston and they repaired the cracks and rebuilt the head for $300.00. I should get it back together by tomorrow evening. Can't wait to get back up and running....

I've got a 250 2V head in need of repair.

I'm not sure of the shop name. I just took it to them here and they shipped it. They said they had been using them 40 years...

that very reasonable for a rebuild alone and a good deal if they had to do welding or brazing repairs because its not the easiest metal to weld(cast iron)

I called our local salvage yard looking for a head when I found out this one was cracked. One of the guys that works there (Randy) called this place in Houston looking for one.

He told me they didn't have one but they told him they could weld the cracks and rebuild my head. I was kinda unsure about welding cast iron but Randy told me he had been doing business with this company for over 40 years and they welded cast everyday.

They even gave me a 6 month warranty. So I will probably give the old car a pretty good run this weekend and see if the head gasket will hold now...
