Last summer at the local gas station-store I opened my hood for this younger guy. He was amazed at all the room I had to work on the engine. He had never looked under the hood of an old Falcon with a six. He said he was jealous of all the room I had to work on it. A header might sound cool but . . ."...easier to install..."
I like da price too !
(and ease of a 'tuck -up' due to off rd running)
Go (site) BB (bronk busters) !!!
Too much room is the answer. For amusement I will say: "A header will out flow a 1 3/4' or 2" stock exhaust system from 6,000 to 8,000 rpm but . . . I drove a California emission 66 Mustang 200 C4, 2.80 gears 14' wheels, 1 /3/4" exhaust, for many years. It ran great. No LOM carb or dist, no header. As long as I kept the speed up to 75 mph I could ould drive from Sacramento up I-80 to Reno and only downshift once. I can wind my stock exhaust 200 to 5,000 rpm + easily at about 1/4 throttle. With 9 + to 1 compression, quick adavance curve and a wide band A/F meter to check the A/F ratio it's a lot of fun. The old six sounds like a sports car engine. Wide open throttle is something that I don't do much anymore. I would rather have fun the while driving at part throttle which is 99+ % of the time. Compression, a quick total spark advance and air fuel ratio is what matters to me."...sound cool but..."
it takes up more room? increases heat in bay? Dont wanna finish ur sentenance-
But DO wanna hear. I like the ceramic coated oe. Fella at the shop convinced me
the SS would look good, wanted to send Ms. Winterborer some $ after Mike's death~
I'd agree on looks but hada go thru several starters, still not sure on fitment w/FW.
Ford Mustang 6 cylinder, also fits; Cougar, Fairlane, Galaxy, Comet, Ranchero (long tube header, available Tri-Y dual exit / 6 into 1 single exit) Part Number HO-114This link has headers for $ 375.00, I've no experience with them .
