it has been a very long time since i have been back here to the ford six forum. some might recall me, but that is okay if not :). i have the 76 granada from a year or two ago with the inline i wanted to rebuild, as well as the rest of my faithful girl. the good news is that i was finally able to trace down a solid prospect for the restoration. i have a line on a 78 ESS granada. it has the 250 for that year with power everything. my question is about the parts exchange. i wanted to verify whether or not i could just swap out the parts i need from the donor 78 into my 76? take care, and its great to be back.

glad to have u back...where have u been??? parts are interchangeable...definitely change the head though cause the valves on the 78 are larger than the 76...

dave,
thanks! mainly, i have been in school the past several months. gone back to take the first steps towards teaching at the university. otherwise, my granada project had to sit on the back burner while life caught up with me :). thanks for the tip on the larger head. i thought the mechanicals would swap well enough, just concerned about the body (i know, different forum). my hope is to do the frame off resto, then replace all the internals with the 78 (lines, wire harness, brakes, etc). i am really looking forward to the air conditioning and the tilt steering wheel :). take care, and thanks for easing my mind. on to the next forum. the next project will be the rebuild of the heart of my 76 into a crossflow screamer!
