i have a big problem, when i drive my car it feels like it is sucking or flooding the engine, ive tried changing the air/fuel ratio on it and i still cant get it right, there is a sucking noise when i rev it with the air cleaner off, but i cant figure out whether to give it more gas or more air, i have a 200 with a Motocraft 1-bbl, please help, i need to fix it tonight

I think you're gonna have to give us a little better description - your symptoms are too vague for me.

The 'sucking' sound when you have the air cleaner open is normal - that's what a carb does - sucks air in and mixes it with gas.

Need more input.

Sucking sound. Big time air leak. Do you have a vacuum line that has come off?

Flooding. Can you see gas? Maybe time for a carb. rebuild

You should hear a little bit of a sucking sound with the air cleaner off. Just normal carb sound. If you are worried about a vacuum leak, get some carb cleaner and spray all around the carb base and gaskets. if the RPMs go up around a particular area when you spray it, there is your vacuum leak.

ok, the sucking sound is louder than it should be than with the air cleaner off normally, but there is definitely a great decrease in any top end power. it seems that i have none at all when i drive it.
