Hi Guys,
I need help identifying 3 6 cylinder heads,

Here are the casting numbers,

C8DE-8080- EITHER 8 3 OR B CAN'T TELL WHICH OF THE THREE THE LAST NUMBER IS

D7BE-8080-AE

C5DE-8080-A

Can you tell what size they are 144 170 or 200

Thanks Fred

The first is 1968, the second is 1977, and the third is 1965.

You want the D7 head. It has the largest carb throat, intake log and valves, so it's the best flowing head. It also has hardened valve seats already installed. A competent machine shop can "cc" the head and mill it according to your needs, no matter which engine you have.

Howdy Back Fred:

Page got you the details on the year. None of these heads were ever used on a 144. The C5 and the C8 could have been used on either a 170 or a 200. The D7 could have been used on a 200 or a 250 engine.

THe C5 & C8 will have aproximately 52 cc chambers. The D7 will have about 62 cc chambers.

THe second set of four digets should read 6090, which is FoMoCo code for cylinder heads.

Adios, David

A lot of our heads had a 6049 code! How did that come about - any ideas?
