High Performance Air Cleaner for the Autolite 1100 Vaporizer

Does anyone know of a high performance Air Cleaner (complete kit with housing) that will fit the Autolite 1100 Vaporizer Carburetor? Thanks.

Pretty much any air cleaner that fits the 1100 will do. Use the 'search' function and you will be amazed.

I recently bought one of these for mine. Its a K&N one, which you just re oil every year or so, and they are one of the best performance filters around....

Hey, thanks a lot. This K&N looks really nice.Is the hole on the bottom the same size as the mouth of the 1100 carb? What car did you put it on? Cuz I have a 1966 Mustang and im just conserned that the hight might not clear the hood.

The mouth of the filter is 57mm, which is 2 1/4 inches in imperial measurement, which i believe you guys still use.....

I just had a look on USA ebay, and a similar filter is this one....

It says the height is 2.5 inches, so you will need to check your clearance. I would have thought 2.5 inches would be ok, but mine is fitted to my Econoline, which is obviously totally different.

Thanks, I will check but if its 2.5 inches from the mouth of the carb to the top of the filter, then I think it should be fine.

The stock air cleaner is as much a muffler as it is an air cleaner. At part throttle with an open air cleaner the 1100 sounds like a giant industrial vacuum cleaner!

We are making a drop base for our new oval air cleaner, as well as an adaptor so it fits the 1100 carbs? Both should be ready in a few weeks? Height with the drop base should be around 2 1/2".

For my YF I got a set of air cleaner adapters/spacers from autozone. Theres a pack that contains 2 different adapters and 3 spacers. One from the kit fit my YF with just a little dremel work to clear the choke. The adapter allowed me to slap on a drop base 14" round air cleaner meant for a 4 barrel.

If you want one of the little 4" round air cleaners, I have one but it needs a new filter and the chrome could use a polish. It has a setscrew mount that should work with the 1100. Its yours for $5 + shipping if you want it.

I don't know if K&N makes a filter that small, but they might. It is a spectre brand and spectre offers replacement filters for it.
