Well they are finally here. They were ready in August, but got lost in shipping twice (big mess tracking them down). But I got a call today saying they just cleared customs, so I'll be going down to LA in the morning to pick them up. I'll post some pics on Saturday or Sunday when I get home.

Checking out some foundries too, while I'm down there , as I want to get various intake manifolds and valve covers produced. Maybe even a port divider.

And I'll be meeting with my cam manufacturer to put together the cam kits that match the various cams they make for me.

Last stop will be with the company that produces some of my headers. We are working on a header for turbo applications on the log heads.

Also picking up a freshly rebuilt OZ 250ci-2V engine, complete with a Holley carb, hipo cam, headers, C4 bell, dizzy and all the peripherals. Haven't decided yet, but I might install it in my 66 coupe, otherwise it will be for sale.

Mike,

any possibility for an intake manifold with multiport fuel injector bungs already in place? Something what could be readily used for something like the Holley Commadner 950 set up?

I'd be very interested...but I may have mine fabbed up for that when I get there...(where's Al?)

Hi Mike,

I am interested in the turbo exhaust pipe. Thinkin about droping in a turbo 200 in my 62 falcon wagon.

Yeah, bout how much and when would it be ready, if you have the turbo header for the 200 stang ready by possibly next summer or even this time next year, Ill be in line to order it!!! I would also look into one of your heads too. Keep up the work man, we ALL appreciate it and just let us know what you think about times and prices etc.!!!
Matt

Mike,

When you get a chance...more info and pricing on the "hi-po" balancers please!! :D :D :D

You get a taste of Christmas early it sounds like!!!

Later,

Doug

Mike, thanks for the update. I can not wait to get mine in :D Thanks again for everything you do for us 8)

Mike,
Good work dude! Keep it up! I'll be looking for some prices on those balancers as well.
If you don't want that 250-2v motor give me a call.....
Will

great work AZ and great to hear al the things are comming along

Here's the pics and info.

Most standard harmonic balancers are assembled with inserted dampening rubber, which won't handle higher torque and revs. This leads to spinning of the inertia ring resulting in loss of timing accuracy and eventual component separation. Often these balancers are made of relatively weak Grey cast iron, which often cracks in the keyway and/or centre webbing. Even some, more costly, all steel or alloy performance balancers use similar rubber inserts which still break down over time in the same way as standard balancers.

These balancers, which were custom manufactured for FSPP, eliminate common failures in standard and other performance balancers by positively bonding the dampening rubber to the metal components under extreme heat and pressure. The state of art bonding process eliminates spinning of the inertia ring and separation of the dampening material in even the most highly stressed applications.

The balancers are manufactured from 1045 steel and are precision CNC machined for total accuracy. Every assembly is pre-balanced at the factory to precise tolerances. Timing marks are computer etched from -10 to +40 and additional marks are at 120 and 240 degrees.

Price is $215 (for 200ci only)

Just another note, while I was in LA, I ran into the Southwest Regional sales manager for Manley Performance Products. We sat and talked over coffee and I told him about our quest for performance parts and the difficulties we were having because of our small numbers (as compared to the V8s). He has agreed to look into the posibilities of producing forged pistons (dished and flat tops) and forged/shot peened rods for us in smaller quantities than normal. Which makes this very feasible if they can produce them from existing blanks. Off the top of his head, the pistons would run about $480 per set, but he wasn't sure on the rods. I should have an answer by the end of January, and if doable, should have them in stock no later than the end of February or mid March. Rings and wrist pins would also be available and the rods will include ARP hardware.

He is also going to produce custom valves, both for the US and OZ heads. All valves will be stainless, swirl polished, pre backcut, and will incooperate their new bead lock (which is much stronger) rather than the normal square cut. I will be able to order these in ranges up to 2.10 for the intakes and 1.625 for exhaust.

Hiya Mike

Good to hear about balancers, pistons, valves, and , on the other thread, crossflow heads.

I guess as you pursue pistons, I'd like you to consider the piston and ring package- look to the japanese high output engines to get their bore sizes, and base piston diameter on avaiable 1/16" compression rings, rather than .020, .030, .040 & .060 over stock.

Also, locatoin of the top compression ring- for unblown engines, put that as close to the top of the piston as possible, for turbo applications, move it down the piston to make the ring less sensitive to detonation. Maybe a 4 ring piston using the top two compression ring lands for NA, the bottom 2 compression ring lands for blown.

Another option that should be considered is a selection of several compression heights- lets you run a longer rod on the short stroke/shorter rod 200's.

Just some stuff to consider- maybe if this pans out we all collectively need to get our heads to gether to figure out what most of us would order.

A few foolish thoughts.....

The nice thing about this, if they have the blanks, they will custom produce a set to any specs, which takes about an extra four weeks. I believe at no extra cost. The more common pistons wil be kept in stock by FSPP. Keep your finger crossed.

these r only 200 ausie dollar, have a circlip mounted on both ends of the balancer to stip the rubber comming out, and to keep tension on it all.

Correct, the OZ 200 balancers won't fit the US 200. The diameter is approx. 1 1/4" larger, resulting in pulley clearance issues.

Also remember they charge a higher prices when custom manufacturing a new part in lessor or minimum quantities.

 Shoot yea! All this stuff sounds great! I will be ordering up one of thoes balancers soon along with more FSPP parts. Pistons and rods sound GREAT! Whatever happened to the small six valve covers?

Dan

Awesome!!!!

I'll have a new parts order for ya right after the holidays Mike!!! :D :D

Good job!!

Doug

if he wants a list before he commits put me down for some low comp forged pistions. and whats the story on the turbo headder? what size of flange, where would it place the turbo...

good work man. many thanks.

With all these new parts and hype and the Ozzie head sitting in my garage, I think I need to start planning a turbo 200 for the future. Everything sounds so tasty.
