Hi guys.
Im running a 221 cui 1986 ford Falcon ( Argentine model ), i had rebuld the engine a mounth ago, the mechanic made a work on the cams, and runs great.. but..

I want to know if is it possible to take more power fron the holley carb before change it for a 2bbl.

I change the main jet for one 2 point biggest , and it work the machine goes 4600rpms without problem.
But i stil trying to take more power from the old holley.

have any idear.. ?

the main jet is 115 ( 69 mm ).

there is a pictures of a wonderfull regional food called EMPANADAS , im a specialist.

Thks.

I am impressed by the cooking. It made me hungry (and I am vegetarian).

You can cut away the narrow part inside at the venturi; this will allow more airflow. However, it will result in poorer performance when not operating at high RPM, as the fuel will not be so evenly drawn out and vaporised. For a car to be driven on the street, it is often not a good choice.

If the carburettor is your main obstruction to better performance, then probably you are arriving at the time to upgrade.

tell me, if i continue upgratting the main Jets, what is going to happend , what can i spect ?

The real problem is usually airflow. Only so much air may pass through the venturi, unless you make it bigger. If you add too much fuel, the ratio of air:fuel will be too rich for good performance.

Maybe slightly bigger jets could work - but will it give enough power?
