I've been trying to tune up my engine because of recent spark plug problems. I have wondered also carb/dizzy combination in my car. The original autolite 1100 has been replaced with holley 1940 and it seems that there's no SCV in it :?: I think it is supposed to work solely with venturi vacuum because they have sold this as an replacement. Am I banging my head against the wall when trying get this combination work properly?

I am running 1940s on a 170 and a 200. I swear by them. Mine all run off vacuum (no scv) so must match the dizzie for best performance.

i'm needing a new carb also, is this the one that they say to get to replace the 1100 without any problems??? can you just take one off and put the other on??? without any modifications? is it a 1 or 2 barrell..

Yes this is 1-barrel aftermarket replacement for Autolite 1100. There's some extra parts (spacers, air cleaner fittings etc) included to cover various Ford six applications from 144 to 250. It's easy and straight forward installation according to instructions.

It is instructed in my case to connect dizzy vacuum to venturi fitting above the throttle. There's no vacuum when idling as it is with original SCV-carb. I just wanted to hear your experiences because I don't know how the advance control behaves compared to original set up.
