Does anyone make an air cleaner neck adapter for the Holley 1946? (Not sure of the OD on the carb neck, haven't measured it, but smalle than the standard 2 bbl carb adapters)

Just looking to have some more air cleaner options, such as the Classic Inline lo-pro carb hat...

Thanks! I didn't find any currently, but saw a couple ended auctions on Ebay that gave me a couple idea from just seeing them...

This Fox shell item is a really odd item to form because its like a boiler lid or mushroom underneath.

The air cleaner and general sizes are okay for the X-shell bodies with 200 engines, the 250 uses another type.

It's got space for other 1-bbl Ford carbs like the YB Carter and F150 truck and CFI HSC 2.3 OHV 1-bbl injection set-ups.

Six other options to raid an air cleaner

1.Owner fabrication required till there is a special replacement.

I'm sure there must be a 22 dollar special since this carb is used on

2. AMC 232 and 258's's,
3. Mopar 225 Slant Sixes

4. The 2.0/2.3 OHC Limas, (post 1985 on Rangers, and Mustangs and other Fox bodies with the corporate four banger)
5. the Tempo/Topaz Holley 1949 US 2.3L HSC cars in 1984 only, and
6. the Canadian Tempo/Topaz 2.3L HSC engines from 1984 until 1987 (Holley 1949) .

The Mopar model was Holley 1945 for the slant, and it might have had a few fix differences without the cross over bracket, but you'd get the right size air cleaner from one of those, no "from scratch" building.

The 75-79 AMC Gremlin had the Holley 1946 Carb, and it was
1975-1976 AMC Gremlin 3.8 L 232 CID L6
1975 - 1976 AMC Gremlin 4.2 L 258 CID L6
1975 - 1976 AMC Hornet 3.8 L 232 CID L6
1975 - 1976 AMC Hornet4.2 L 258 CID L6
1975 - 1976 AMC Matador4.2 L 258 CID L6
1975 - 1976 AMC Pacer3.8 L 232 CID L6
1975 - 1976 AMC Pacer4.2 L 258 CID L61

The 1946 and 1949 1-bbl was used on Ford 4 and 6 cylinder engines into the 1980's, and on industrial applications well into the 1990's. The 6145 and 6159 was a computer controlled, feedback version used in 1985 Ford 4 cylinder cars, so the Rangers with 2.0, 2.3 1-bbls, and Fox body LTDs or Mustangs with 2.3 1--bls from 1984 onwards should have a good air cleaner. The HSC Tempo Topaz with the 1949 1-bbl, that could be a donar . See how similar it is to the 1946 in this item on 1949/6149 see http://autorepair.about.com/library/faqs/bl640b.htm

But from Linc's200, he had this

Another pass side shot:

it bolted to this

According to this link, http://www.albertpenello.com/mustang/engine.html use the stock 1965 air cleaner with the 1946 and later model head. But it lookes to me like its a Holley 1940 carb, and he's possibly made an error. Do try the stock air cleaner, though, it just might work.

Sorry I didn't understand this untill recently, though I've always had access to it since 2003.
