All Small Six Hot Lash?

Any need or reason to do this on a 200cid with adjustable rockers?
Or is the initial shop manual set up procedure enough?

Shop Manual makes no mention of doing a hot lash on the inlines...only the V8's.

Tighten the adjuster 1/4 turn from 0.

The hydraulic lifter needs to be completely collapsed (like new)...correct?

When I initially built the engine with new lifters (not soaked or pumped up), I did the up & down wiggle test with the rods, then added a 1/4 turn on the adjuster...locked them down. And basically followed the method you listed above.

This hot lash procedure just seems unnecessary.
Plus, I think you'd need that lifter bleed tool to compress the lifter.

No the plunger in the lifter should be at the top, not collapsed, but pumped up.
