I finally bit the bullet and bought a new (actually remanufactured) dizzy. I figured since I have the 5 main block that I had a 1/4" dizzy.
I pulled the old dizzy out and compared the two and then saw I actually have the 5/16" dizzy.
Normally when I get the wrong part I get a bit irritated. This time I couldn't have been happier.
Not only can I get a new (not remanufactured) dizzy but when I'm ready to convert to fuel injection I already have the correct openings and oil pump.
Quick question though, was there a difference in the dizzy drive gear between the camshafts in the 1/4" and 5/16" motors?
