stock 1100 carb.

it sounds like an airplane trying to take off. i have exhausts, and they sound good when its cold, then it warms up and runs smoothly...at like 2500 rpm... i hate it lol

its annoying

I had that problem, throttle rod adjustment for the accelerator pedal was out of adjustment. a couple turns back and it was idiling right where it should have been.

oh ok. where is the adjustment at, at the end of the throttle arm beside the carb right?

I think he's suggesting twisting the entire rod and that adjustment would be near the firewall on a curved rod.

It seems to me though that your idle stop is set too high. If you have a manual choke and you don't use it when your engine is cold that would explain why your idle adjustment is set too high. If you readjust your idle make sure, if you have an automatic, to adjust it while in gear and with the AC on if you have it, with a warm engine. The idle stop will be a springed screw that manually controls the pitch of the accelerator on the carburetor.

That will take care of the problem.

the adjustment is right at where the throttle rod ( the 1 connects to bell- crank at carb ) connects into the piviot arm on the firewall. the rod is threadded and the little black adjuster can turn, you just have to pry up the little clip that holds it.
